Opticien GENÈVE Optical Center

I booked an eye exam at Optical Center Coutance for 9:30 AM and showed up on time, only to find the store closed. I waited over 20 minutes—still no one showed up, so I left. When I returned in the afternoon, I was told there was no optician available at that location and that I needed to go to another branch. While I was there, I asked if someone could help reassemble my eyeglasses after I disassembled them to clean the temples (which had changed color on their own). The staff member didn’t know how to reassemble them, insisted they were broken—even though I was certain they weren’t—and only after I pointed out a missing part did he manage to put them back together, though incorrectly. I was told to visit the Charmilles branch to get them polished. At Charmilles, the person who greeted me didn’t speak English, so an intern came to help. When I asked if they could polish the glasses, the staff member immediately said they were "broken" and exaggerated how they opened to 180 degrees. I explained they weren’t assembled properly, but he kept insisting they were broken and spoke dismissively in French to the intern, assuming I wouldn’t understand. He was rude, condescending, and completely unhelpful. Extremely disappointed with the service at both locations. Unprofessional, dismissive, and disrespectful. Would not recommend.

Excellent service. François Xavier is the manager there and he does an amazing work with his clients. Not only he found the last frame in one of the other Optical Center stores for me since I spotted a specific frame a few days ago. He also managed to repair them after I accidentally damaged them. Fortunately. After having searched for this specific frame for days. Last but not least, he always shows a big smile on his face, always in a good mood! He is a reliable person and so is this store. I am very grateful for the service rendered there.

I will also mention this when picking up my glasses, but I am deeply disappointed in feeling treated like an idiot and seeing such a reputable company doing unethical marketing tactics. I was told that the frames and glasses were 50% off due to a Valentines special deal from 709(?),- to 354.50,- CHF the frame and the glasses 277,- to 138.50 each. Later I find that the same store advertises the same frame ALWAYS for 326 CHF,- in Switzerland and for 138,- £ in the UK. So there was never a discount to begin with, AND I payed more in store with your arbitrary discount than what I would have payed buying the glasses online from you. Don't treat your customers like idiots, or at least adjust your prices online if you want to pull this off. Additionally, I asked your sales rep if you had other colours for the frame and he sad that there is only this colour on the market. I trusted him to then learn through 5 seconds research that there are other colours available. You are not just jeopardizing your relationship with me as a life long repeat customer, you are also jeopardizing your reputation with everyone I will be happily sharing how awful my experience with you was. Really sad, because I wanted to like you. ************** Edit: unfortunately, I can't respond to your response below, so here is an appendix: You didn't offer me the lowest price in the store that is also on the website. You offered me glasses at 709(?),-, saying they are discounted to 354.50,- CHF for a special Valentines deal that is only still valid the day I entered your shop, and that there are no other frames like this. That is called deliberately triggering dopamine, fear of missing out and pressure to buy that day. Fully knowing that you offer the same frame all the time online at 326 CHF,- and in different frame variations. Again, I really wanted to like you, but I feel scammed and don't even want these glasses anymore.

Excellent customer service. I broke my glasses and was recommended to go to another store nearby but couldn't find a solid selection of glasses which were wide enough for my head... at this store I found dozens of options. And the lady was exceptionally patient, kind, and clear in her explanations. Price point and aesthetic of glasses were also superb. Would definitely go back again!
